Cimertex unveiled as Portugal distributor

Cimertex has been unveiled as Powerscreen full line distributor covering all of Portugal.

Cimertex was established in 1964 in Porto with the purpose of selling industrial goods and providing services to the construction and mining industry. After more than 50 years of intense activity it now has branches throughout the country offering extensive commercial and aftersales support.

Philip Wilson, Powerscreen Regional Territory Manager said of the appointment, “We are delighted to welcome Cimertex to the Powerscreen Global Dealer Network. As a company with a long heritage in customer support in the earthmoving, mining and construction sector, we are confident that Cimertex will deliver excellent service to Powerscreen customers.”

“Powerscreen has always had the strongest name in mobile crushing and screening and Cimertex is very happy to now stock and support this equipment across all of Portugal,” said Alvaro Bastos. “With our regional offices and knowledgeable sales and support teams, customers are assured of prompt, reliable service from our helpful team.”

Recently, Cimertex was a key sponsor at the ANIET – (National Association of Extractive and Manufacturing Industry) Technical Days expo and presented Powerscreen to the market with a strong and professional display.  Founded in 1975, ANIET is an association representing companies in the aggregates and mining industries across Portugal. With its headquarters at Oporto and having a delegation in Lisbon, ANIET provides support and advice to associate companies of all sizes.

Initially Portugal was badly affected by the global economic slowdown. Following the crisis, companies often supported by ANIET, sought to diversify their business and in recent years the materials processing industry has seen a resurgence both within Portugal and in exports to developing markets including parts of Africa and Latin America. These days quarries are still a major contributor to the economy, such as the granite quarries located largely in the north of the country, with limestone and other quarries around the centre and the large region around the Portuguese capital Lisbon. As in many territories in the world, the processing of recycled materials is a major growth sector in Portugal. Cimertex and Powerscreen are ideally placed to service this sector with a complete range of mobile crushers, screeners and stackers designed for recycling along with decades of crushing, screening and stockpiling experience and know-how.
