Powerscreen History:1966 – 2007

12th February 1966 
Ulster Plant founded. Premises bought at 207 Coalisland Road, Dungannon for £4,000

1st machine built was UP PC 100. (Ulster Plant Portable Conveyor). Ulster Plant sold 1 machine per week into Ireland and UK.

1969
The 90th machine built was the 1st hydraulic driven model.  This was also the first machine to be exported – to Sweden.

The UP PC 100 sold for £2,500

1970         
Company name changed from Ulster Plant to Powerscreen International.

1974            
Exporting to USA and Canada

Powerscreen International employs 100 staff

1975      
Powerscreen bought a new factory site at 200 Coalisland Road – the current factory site.

The Industrial Development Board, the local government investment body, built the factory and rented it to Powerscreen Int. for 10p per square foot over a 21 year contract.

Sold 80 machines in USA

1976
New Powerscreen logo introduced to represent the globe shaking,   vibrating and the screens.

1978         
Launch of MKII. UP PC renamed the MKI

1980        
The Chieftain is launched

1982        
Powerscreen International employs 320 people.

1985
20 machine per week produced. 10 different machines in the range.

Powerscreen International sold to British Benzol – the company was renamed Powerscreen International plc.

1996        
Powerscreen celebrates 30 year anniversary.

Powerscreen produce the first track machine – the Powertrack.
Turbo Chieftain introduced.

1999     
Powerscreen bought by TEREX – the 3rd largest construction equipment manufacturer in the world.

2002               
£2 Million major office refurbishment at Dungannon offices to facilitate the expanding work force.

2003     
The highly successful Warrior 1400 and 1800 products launched.

2004        
New product launches:

·Chieftain 2400, largest machine in the Chieftain range

·Phoenix1600 and Orion 1400 trommels

·Powershredder 1800 is introduced

·Finesmaster 200 and 60 models increase the washing range

2005        
A new £3 million paint facility is installed and the machine colour is updated.

New product launches:

·The massive Horizon 6203 is launched

·Chieftain 2100 2 & 3-Deck products replace the Chieftain 1800

·Phoenix1200 is added to trommel range

·Powershredder 2400 joins the successful Powershredder 1800

The company employs over 600 people and produces more than 35 machines a week

2006         
Powerscreen celebrates its 40th Anniversary

New product launches:

·Chieftain Rinser range

·Horizon 6203 Recirculating

·Warrior 1800 Radial

·Phoenix 2100

2007               
New machines will be launched in 2007 to meet the requirements of  end users.
